Lisa trained locally under the tuition of Silvia Light and Avril Gorman at Tudor school of Dance. Lisa went on to train at The Hammond School and after she graduated, she danced in the Corps de Ballet of Northern Ballet Theatre under the direction of Robert De Warren. On leaving the company she branched out into stage management and was employed as a production assistant with ARB productions.

Lisa then rejoined The Hammond as the classical ballet teacher for upper school as well as the associates teacher. She returned home to the Midlands and set up her own dance school, The Lisayne Ballet School. Lisa saw the need of local ballet schools to have a youth ballet company to enhance their training. At the time students had to travel to London for this kind of professional experience and nowhere offered this training, so in 2011 Midland Theatre Ballet was born.
